Although CEREC is very versatile, there are times when the use of a traditional lab is more appropriate, for example when getting a bridge, an implant crown or an all-metal crown.
On the day of your appointment, your tooth will be prepared for a crown or on-lay and then optically scanned. A 3D model of your tooth is created on the computer. Using CEREC’s unique dental software a crown or on-lay will be designed and customized to fit your tooth precisely and mimic your natural teeth.
This design will then be wirelessly transmitted to our CAD/CAM milling unit, which will mill out your crown from a block of strong, esthetic ceramic. Your restoration will then be glazed and customized to match your natural teeth.
After any adjustments are made, your crown or on-lay will be cemented permanently in place and you’re done! No need to wait for the lab. No need to return for a second visit. Our patients love the look and feel of their new CEREC crowns.
